So I really hate having my photograph taken. Really. A lot.

But I thought it would be kind of interesting to have my own creative headshots taken and see what it feels like to turn the camera on myself. Plus, it’s not exactly professional for a photographer to have an iPhone photo of herself on her website.

Enter my partner, Steven, with my camera in hand and my car key in the other.

Of course there’s only one place that I’d have my headshots taken, and that’s a carnival! Carnivals might just be my favorite aesthetic on Earth. So he dragged me to the carnival and I went all goofy in front of the camera and the results are below.

I realized that headshots can be really creative and fairly pain-free (dizziness from spinning excluded), especially when there’s fried food afterwards. So I’ll be coming up with creative headshot ideas and packages in the coming weeks, and if you’d like to subject yourself to the same pseudo-torture that I did yesterday, shoot me an email and we’ll work it out! (The one-day turnaround does ease the pain substantially.)
