Jordan and Devin were married at the way beautiful Jefferson Patterson Park in Southern Maryland. It was a bit of a trek, but totally worth it–we photographed some gorgeous bridal portraits right at sunset, talk about epic shots! Jordan and Devin were so excited to be married, I didn’t see one bit of nervousness–just a ton of huge grins and lots of goofy fun. My favorite!
There were so many fun DIY details, from the scarves (just in case it was chilly)–which guests got to keep!–to little honeycomb details and beautiful flowers throughout. Jordan made all of the flower arrangements herself, too, talk about serious skills!
We also discovered a brand new kind of cake. I know what you’re thinking, cake is cake, but we got to taste Smith Island cake for the first time! Jordan’s sister was telling me about these cakes, cooked in thin layers, with icing in the middle of every layer. So. good. Recipe much needed!
Something I learned from Jordan and Devin’s wedding: the timeline was planned really well for photography. We had about an hour before the ceremony to photograph the bridal party portraits, and a few family shots, and then after the ceremony I snuck away with Jordan and Devin for some more private photos of just the two of them. Having a lot of time in the schedule for photography really makes the portraits that much more awesome, and leaves us time to explore the location to the fullest extent of our imaginations.
