I met up with Finn and his mom at Kalorama park for a morning walk (and some really cute baby faces!). I first met Finn and his family last year when he was just the tiniest little thing and now he’s walking, running, and showing off like a champ! It’s so crazy how fast kids grow, and I love seeing their new milestones and tricks in our images. I can only imagine what big-kid stuff Finn will be doing next time I see him!
Let’s start with the tiny little guy I met last year…
And now how much he’s grown!
Janelle’s thoughts-
Last summer I contacted Maggie to set up a photo session for our then 4-month-old son, Finn. We lived in Brazil and were coming back to DC for a short time because he needed surgery. Finn was born with a cleft lip and palate.* We knew that post-surgery was going to be an emotional time for us and wanted to make sure that we recorded his beautiful wide smile beforehand. Finn has always been a super happy baby whose smile can light up the room before you know it. I had seen some of Maggie’s pictures online and knew that she would be able to catch his infectious smile. We were really happy with the pictures from that day and I look back on them fondly. They are a treasured addition to our home. When we came back to DC a few weeks ago, I knew that Maggie would be just the one to take Finn’s 1-year photos!
*Approximately one out of every 594 newborns, or over 6,800 children, per year in the U.S. is affected by cleft lip and/or palate. For more information on cleft lip and palate, please visit the Cleft Palate Foundation.
